Word Finder Pro App Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 18, 2026

The short version: the app has no analytics of its own and the letters you type never leave your device. Google's advertising SDK collects data to show the banner ad. If you subscribe to Pro and choose to link it to this website, we store your Apple or Google account identifier and your subscription's details, and nothing else.

1. Who this policy covers

This policy applies to the Word Finder Pro app for iOS and Android ("the app"), published by the team behind wordlesolver.pro. The website has its own privacy policy.

2. What the app does not collect

  • No name, email address or phone number is stored. The app works without signing in.
  • No contacts, photos, location, microphone or camera access. The app requests none of these permissions.
  • No record of the letters, guesses or words you enter. All word searches run on your device using a word list stored inside the app.
  • No analytics or crash reporting SDK of our own.

3. What stays on your device

The app saves your settings (theme, word length, whether to show rare words, vibration) in local app storage. They are deleted when you delete the app.

4. Advertising

The app shows a banner ad served by Google AdMob. To request and measure ads, Google's SDK may collect and process:

  • Device identifiers, including the advertising ID (IDFA on iOS, AAID on Android) where you allow it
  • IP address, which can indicate approximate location
  • Device and app information such as model, operating system version and language
  • Ad interaction data and diagnostic data, such as which ads were shown or tapped

Google uses this data to deliver ads, limit how often you see an ad, measure performance and prevent fraud. Where you allow it, the data may also be used to personalize ads. Google explains its practices at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

5. Your choices

  • iPhone: the app asks permission before using your advertising ID. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", ads are not personalized with that ID. You can change this later in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
  • Android: you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Settings > Privacy > Ads.
  • Europe, the UK and Switzerland: the app shows a consent message before any ad is requested. You can reopen it at any time from More > Ad privacy choices.
  • US states with opt-out rights: where the law gives you a right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, the same "Ad privacy choices" entry opens the opt-out.

6. Word Finder Pro subscription

Pro is an optional subscription bought through the App Store on iPhone or Google Play on Android. Apple or Google processes the payment; we never see your card or billing details.

iPhone: if you tap "Use Pro on the website" in the app, you sign in with Apple and the app sends us two things: Apple's anonymous user identifier for you, and Apple's signed record of your subscription (product, transaction identifier and expiry date). We do not request or receive your name or email address. Apple notifies us when the subscription renews, expires or is refunded.

Android: if you tap "Use Pro on the website" in the app, you sign in with Google and the app sends us two things: a sign-in token from Google and the Google Play purchase token for your subscription. We use the purchase token to ask Google Play for the product, status and expiry date, and to confirm the purchase so Google Play does not refund it automatically. Google's sign-in token also contains your name, email address and profile picture; our server reads only Google's account identifier for you and does not store the rest. Google Play notifies us when the subscription renews, is paused or cancelled, expires or is refunded.

We store the account identifier, the purchase reference and the subscription's product and expiry date so that wordlesolver.pro can switch ads off when you sign in there with the same Apple ID or Google account.

When you sign in on the website, your browser keeps a session token and the expiry date in local storage. "Sign out on this browser" on the app page removes them.

To delete the stored record, open the app, go to More and choose "Remove website link". This deletes your account identifier and subscription record from our servers immediately. It does not cancel the subscription, which you manage in your App Store account settings or in Google Play under Payments and subscriptions.

7. Children

The app is a general audience utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Ad content is restricted to material suitable for all ages.

8. Links

The app links to wordlesolver.pro for help, this policy and the full web solver. Those pages open in your browser and are covered by the website privacy policy.

9. Data retention and deletion

Unless you linked a Pro subscription (see section 6), we do not hold personal data about app users on our servers. A linked record is kept until you remove the link. To remove data held by Google, use My Ad Center or reset your advertising ID.

10. Changes

If the app changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change ships.

11. Contact
